Michael Nakou writes with three decades of experience training, educating and mentoring people of all ages and cultures within the Greater Toronto Area. He has worked in the public, private and nonprofit sectors bringing communication theory to group workshops, corporate training sessions and post-secondary lectures. George Brown College employed Michael for thirteen years as an instructor of Assertiveness Training and Interpersonal Communications. Through the pandemic lock-down Michael formed an alternative forest education program for public school students and their caregivers to help them connect with nature. He has inspired students of all ages to explore the human social connection, and build confidence in personal and professional spheres. His photography work reflects his rhythm of relationship with the natural world. Fox, coyote, owl and hawk have regular interactions with him at his conservation area in Newmarket, where he currently resides with his wife and three daughters.
