The Freshman - Points of View is Courtney Robinson's debut as a professional poet but she is not new to writing poetry. In 1993 Courtney won the Maryland State NAACP ActSo division Poetry Contest with her poem 'I Don't want to be Alone'. Courtney went on to compete in the National Division and fell short but that did not discourage her! Courtney went on becoming the literary Arts Editor at FT. Meade Sr High from 1993-1995 and on to DuVal Senior High editor in 1996. Courtney took a ten year hiatus from writing and with the encouragement from family and friends began to write again.

Courtney has begun sharing her work participating in the Artist and Author Showcase at Industrial Bank in Washington D.C. Courtney is currently finalizing her second book entitiled Venus which should be out at the end of the year.
