Mark McEvoy is an artist and teacher with an intuitive documentary approach. He uses photography, video, sound and the written word to investigate and archive life experience. Throughout the 1990's he worked as a freelance photographer, travelling extensively through India and Far East as well as working closer to home to produce photo essays for various newspapers and magazines including The Independent Saturday and Sunday magazine supplements. In 2001 he completed an MA in Design for Interactive Media. Since then he has been exploring multimedia through digital-photo narrative, video/sound installation and experimentation with traditional and digital processes. His practice is informed by identifying new techniques and idioms that merge and reconfigure to enable a unique expression. He is a part-time photography degree lecturer at Middlesex University and regularly freelances as an art facilitator for educational organisations and charities working with vulnerable youths.
