The original text was written by Robert Grierson early in the 20th century as two assays. It is largely about the Griersons of Lag and their estates, but many other branches are mentioned. A number of pages are devoted to Robert's branch, the Griersons of Dalgoner." The original manuscript was edited by interested researchers and published in 2012. The aim was to produce, for the modern eye, a readable document with historical terminology explained. This is the second edition.
