Acerca del libro
In 1947, Robert Capa and John Steinbeck visited Georgia, then a part of the Soviet Union to produce together their Russian Journal.
Following them in 1954 and again in 1972, came Henri Cartier-Bresson, who captured images across the Soviet Union including Georgia, published in About Russia. He was founder of Magnum Photos and mentor to Klavdij Sluban who was himself to guide me in 2015-18 as I attempted to capture my vision of the now independent, though still partially occupied nation of Georgia.
In 2017, I was privileged to exhibit my project Beyond the End of Road at the Tbilisi Photo Festival alongside Thomas Dworzak, now president of Magnum, and to see his most recent update on Capa’s work in Russian Journal Revisited.
This book is a trilogy building on three projects, each of which represents an aspect of Georgia reflecting the belief systems of Soviet Communism, Paganism and Russian Orthodox Christianity respectively.

Travelling since I was six months old, writing since I was tiny, photographing for the last fifty years and trying to save the planet for the last thirty. Possibly due to this experience I am more successful at travelling than the others, but...still working on it.
