After flying half way around the world on a photographer’s trip to explore Morocco, where does one choose to travel next to a neighbouring country? Of course, Portugal is the natural answer, since the flight time is only 100 minutes away from Marrakech to Lisbon.

And what does one plan to do on a 14 day visit to Portugal. Firstly, explore the capital city Lisbon and then embark on an 11 day Uniworld tour from Lisbon, including a week on the Douro River from and return to Porto on the Queen Isobel to travel through the picturesque valleys of the wine country. This trip took place in July 2019. The Uniworld travel brochure concluded “there’s no better way to discover Europe’s best-kept secret than this scenic and all-inclusive river cruise!” We agree.
