This was the main event for this tour. Carol saw this trip as a way to acclimatize for altitude and walking in Tibet. are interested in the cultural life of China and the architecture and street life of the towns. We were also attracted to a walking tour with a couple of walks in the country areas.

Allan has exhibited widely in Australia and internationally in France, United Kingdom, Japan, Canada, China & New Zealand. Allan researches the possibilities for photography to explore identity both nationally and internationally and constructs journey like montages that may stretch to sixty meters in length. He has worked on collaborative projects with the Song Company, a national touring organization, and the Melbourne Recital Centre providing images that accompany musical performances. Dr Allan Chawner is a Conjoint Professor in Photomedia/Fine Art at the University of Newcastle, Australia.
