Before it was ever "cool." artists came together in an equitable ways in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for several diversity and BIPOC events. Christine Bethea has worked in the arts and special events fields for over fifteen years, earning the Beacon of Hope Award for Economic Development Through the Arts; and her organization Passports : The Art Diversity Project co-founded by Brenda Brown was designed to increase opportunities for local artists. This past summer, Passports was recognized for Arts and Business Collaborations by the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council.
