I will never forget watching my sister go through many medical procedures when she was three. This experience not only affected my sister but our entire family. While volunteering at the Emergency Room, I frequently re-visit those memories and wish a visual aid would have existed to explain the procedures in a way that my sister or I could have understood. I have a great passion for medicine and loved the opportunity to provide children with a book that would ease their fears by improving communication with medical providers and empowering their caregivers with child appropriate explanations.
