Urban Reflections is the culmination of a project that spans the course of 14-plus years. Mario Savioni walked the streets of San Francisco, New York, Rome, and Paris. With exception to two images, all are "found." In some cases the images were shot with a 24mm lens that he bought at Longs Drugs in Honolulu for $35 on a Canon AE-1 35mm film camera. Generally, the images were shot with a 4.0 megapixel Sony Mavica digital camera with a fixed lens.



Mario Savioni is the author of a number of books including A Man Looking At Women and uncertainty. He studied photography at The University of Hawaii, where he had a "Master's equivalent" show at the Art Department Commons Gallery. He was student coordinator of College Art Inc. and a participant in the juried art exhibition Image XVII. The Honolulu Star-Bulletin and Advertiser art reviewer Joan Rose said Savioni was among the best of the next generation of artists in Hawaii, specifying his genre as photography. Savioni is also a book producer, paralegal, freelance art, book and movie reviewer.
