Acerca del libro
These settings of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in G flat major are for TTB, meaning tenor, baritone, and bass. Ostensibly in three parts the singers divide on occasion to provide four and even five part texture. A piano part is provided for rehearsal purposes, and the works are orchestrated for a standard symphony orchestra. Designated as 'A cappella' there are organ interludes between the verses which contain modulations and variations in musical texture for added interest.
The equally distinctive SSAA settings of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in A flat major are for the ladies. These several settings are now published in F, Bb, Ab, and Gb major.
