Acerca del libro
This group of speculative projects has been compiled by graduate students at Taubman College of Architecture + Urban Planning, University of Michigan, in response to an active city-initiated project in Detroit (Fitzgerald neighborhood), during the course of a semester-long design studio. The projects address not only the Fitzgerald site, but the roles of repetition, difference, and contingency in architectural process. The project scope encompasses the renovation, appropriation, or demolition of approximately 99 existing houses and 99 developable lots. This does not become urban design. Architecture here is multiple and variable, as are the situations on site.
