Alice Shaw is a graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute and a recipient of a 2002 ArtCouncil Award. Her work, which infuses personal document with humor, is included in such collections as the San Francisco Museum of Modern. She has practiced photography for over 20 years and she has been a visiting lecturer at UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, UC Berkeley, San Francisco State University, The California College of Art and The San Francisco Art Institute. Her book, People Who Look Like Me, was published in April of 2006 by Gallery 16 who represents her work.
