The Loft on Antillenstraat is a documentation of the author's first two and a half years following the move from Bucharest to Amsterdam. The book alternates journal entries with photographs in order to express an emotional landscape of new beginnings and endings, of love and loss, and ultimately of growing up. The author's first home in the new country becomes the stage on which this journey of discovery – of a new culture and of one's self – is unfolding in front of our eyes. Not your typical expat book.
