Behind The Lights grants the viewer an all access behind the scenes look at the Grand Rapids Ballet. This photography book done in a fine art documentary style spans four years, recalling countless hours of rehearsals and performances. Unlike most dance and ballet photographs, none of Ray Nard photos are staged and a unique view is portrayed as he photographed many of the performances from behind the lights in the wings.
