From the author's introduction: "I have known Managua for almost 30 years and between 2008 and 2010, I made many visits to the old city center with my camera, trying to capture the pull the place has on me: the textures, colors and shadows, and the light – the fantastic, strong light of this tropical city – with every manhole, every wall, every old house, and every ruin participating in forming the material layers of the urban landscape."
