Acerca del libro
This series of photos were taken over approximately a 8 month period in 2008. The aim was to capture a visual story of people utilizing and volunteering at the Sunday Suppers program at St Silas’ Anglican Church. The initial idea for photographing the program came from a discussion between two friends; myself, Katie Ferrito and Leonard Seberry. The high number of people waiting out the front of the church to use this service was surprising to us as the area of Albert Park is generally thought to be a financially wealthy suburb. It made us stop and think that there is another side to this area that is not really in your face all the time. The large homes, expensive motor vehicles and abundance of restaurants and cafes can mask the people underneath that are really struggling to survive. We hope you enjoy the images that were captured.
