Acerca del libro
My name is Thierry Dehove, professional photographer. It was in 2000, when I decided to embark on an adventurous world tour after being an entrepreneur in Paris for many years. At that time, I saw a limited futurein a country, plagued by ignorance and hypocrisy, so I left France in 2002 to travel the world in pursuit of my passion for photography.
Through random travel forums, I discovered the beautiful and tranquil island of Anguilla resting in the Caribbean as well as the love for the sport of kite surfing which was nonexistent, at that time. So it was only natural that Anguilla would be my starting point. I explored the island for two glorious weeks then returned in September of 2003. I felt that I had found a piece of paradise and I had no intentions of leaving it but... after 5 years of traveling for my photos and my sport, I decided that the island of Anguilla was too small. The world has now become my home and I wanted to see what it had to offer but my heart will always be in Anguilla.
I am grateful and dedicate this book to all the men and women of Anguilla who have been so generous with me. I have made a lifetime of true friendships and lasting memories. A very special thought for my tender mother, my brother Judd, my friend Pat and Nik who left us too quickly.
I hope these images will give you as much joy as I felt when I captured these moments on my visits home. If I see you again in paradise, it will be as a tourist.
Take care of you and Carpe Diem,
Thierry
