Grandma’s Haus is an account of the life of Emilie Chmiel. The daughter of a Bar Keeper who left Österreich, Schlesien to follow her husband to America in 1913. The book gives a small glimpse of what is known about her life in Skotschau, Austria & her life in Reese, Michigan & Los Angeles, California. It is the story of one woman’s perseverance, experiencing many triumphs & tragedies throughout her life.
