In October 2008 I travelled into the hills of the Indian states of Chhattisgarh and Orissa. It was rugged road by 4WD on forest paths. The expedition was specifically tailored for Tribal Culture into the Bastar region. This is not a tourist destination (in fact, few non-Indians venture to the Bastar regionof Chhattisgarh) and not recomended for first-timers to India. We were accompanied by Sanjay Badnor, a photographer with the Times of India, with long experience in the area.
