Acerca del libro
Between 1987 and 1989 Stuart Blackwood photographed the metamorphosis of Derby's Market Hall from dereliction to shopping arcade. This fine Victorian building was gutted and wholly refurbished, a transformation which Blackwood used as the subject of his astonishing series of photographs. Uncannily able to distill the chaos of construction into individual stage sets, he seems to ask us to populate his pictures with characters of our invention. Taken on a view camera, these photographs with their rich and imaginative vision deserve wider exposure.
