a particular dish can spark memories of our childhood. Maybe of family gatherings around the breakfast table where the air is filled with the smell of fresh coffee, fried bacon, fluffy pancakes, and real maple syrup. Holidays when families come from far and near to gather around a big roast turkey or brown sugar glazed ham with all the fixin's.
Special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries when the air is filled with laughter and conversation
as bowls and platters are passed around for all to share. Winter lunches of grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. Summer goodies like peanut butter and banana sandwiches and picnics with fried
chicken and potato salad and creamy coleslaw. Homemade cakes and candy and fresh baked cookies all made with love. Yes, food can be magical and can bring back all the memories of home.
Memories of Home is a collection of my favorite recipes, many that I remember from childhood. Like my Mom's chicken Croquettes, which were always a family favorite and her peanut butter pie that still makes me feel all warm and fuzzy when I think about it.
These simple recipes are some that I grew up on. Like my Mom's old-fashioned Cinnamon French Toast and her delicious Apple Turnovers, still warm from the oven.
These recipes say "home" to me and they bring back the happiest memories in my life. They say "Love" and they bring back memories of time spent in the kitchen with my Mom, learning to make each and every one. These are the memories of home.

I am the founder and owner of Welcome Home. I created Welcome Home on Facebook and within a year it went viral. Now 12 years later, over a half a million friends follow my journey of cooking and honoring my Mom's memory. People come from all over the world to join my Save A Life Program....my mission to help the homeless and save the lives of dogs and cats that are being killed in Shelters when no one gets there in time. It seems I work non-stop. I am also the president and CEO of a Communications Consulting firm here in Maryland, just outside of Baltimore. So I don't have a lot of free time on my hands. But in my spare time, I obviously enjoy cooking and blogging, but I also love gardening, reading and writing. I am a novice writer that has published 8 cookbooks. I am proud of the fact that some of the proceeds from the sale of all my books go to the homeless and under privileged and some go to support animal rights.
