Most of this book was written by me on many dark nights when I was first diagnosed with SLE in 1988. Often times writing my feelings down on paper would ease my pain on long and painful nights. This was a way of releasing some of that pain. Some of my interpretations of my life are sad, but I have come a long way and I BELIEVE that I will have a joyful heart because of it, and not in spite of it. This is a book of appreciation to all my family and friends who have loved and supported me my whole life. Much love to all who have loved me. Deb

I was born in Evansville, Ind. on June 1, 1960. Oldest of 5 children. Moved to Lexington, KY in 1971, Married my high school sweetheart , Keith Epperson in 1979, Two children, Josh and Mandi. I got SLE in 1988, Best of all I became a Grams to Sawyer Joshua on April 28, 2005. He is so much fun, I love my family and friends very much.
