This walk is called the Scalby Ness Moonscape beach walk since the first stretch of beach walking is across a fractured rock landscape more akin to the lunar landscape seen on the surface of the moon, and it officially starts at Scalby Ness. It is arduous in places.
The aim of this walking guide is to provide circular beach walk combining the passions of fossil hunting and beachcombing for Whitby Jet, with the sightseeing of the numerous historical sites of interest that lie on our beaches.
