Acerca del libro
Coleman Ogg, (1855-1950), was a traveling photographer in Kentucky from 1880-1940. He worked throughout the mountain counties. Although his photographs were published across three centuries, they were never attributed. Before large scale lumber and coal extraction came to Kentucky, the mountain people lived a subsistence lifestyle, consuming only what they could grow, hunt, gather, or trade for. Coleman Ogg created a visual record of a vanished culture. Today, there is renewed interest in self sufficiency and sustainable living. His work gives us a window to the past and an opportunity to revisit "Ogg Land". This is C. I. Ogg's first photo book.
