The series exists in a new gray area between the hand-made and the mass-produced—made possible by increasingly inexpensive digital printing. Each of the 10 14 16 books is printed in quantities as small as one copy, using an online print-on-demand service. The content is meant to surprise and subvert expectations of what a book is.
