A photo collection from Svalbard at midsummer.



Svalbard is an archipelago in the Arctic Ocean, constituting the northernmost part of Norway and the northernmost outpost and piece of land before the pack ice of north pole. In the short summer there is bright midnight sun - followed by a long black arctic winter.



The scenery around the archipelago is spectacular and stunning, and the flora and wildlife/fauna very impressive. Polar bears, arctic foxes, seals and hundredth of thousands nesting birds.

Different kinds of whales are present, and all animal life seems to prosper in one way or another on the exploding number of small crustaceans called Krill in summertime.



This photo collection was captured from a expedition cruise around the coasts of Svalbard with M/S Quest, operated by PolarQuest, using zodiacs to reach the coastal shores.
