Acerca del creador
Carlos René Perez has two Blurb Books. His first, Dutch, represents the animation of misplaced and forgotten objects and the journey of a ceramic Dutch Boy longing for love and adventure. In Dutch he combines interests in detailed photography and a passion for cynical noir fiction. His second book, An Artist’s Life, Perez presents his love of contrasting styles, a hallmark of his fine art career. In early years Perez worked in a classical B&W photographic style of people in their environment in stark contrast to the intense color and highly manipulated vision of Dutch. In An Artist’s Life, Perez presents the full spectrum of his vision, from stark B&W and stunning color street photos, vivid still life’s or to hand-color masterworks. Throughout, Perez seeks a sense of existential isolation. In his recent work he refers to these images as moments of presence and absence. To a greater extent they represent the circular nature of his creative vision.
