NYC in the 70s and 80s was a time of changes. Hippies in Washington Sq. Park,
the Bicentennial celebrated at the Easter Parade, Citicorp arising, new shopping malls. Central Park portraits I made capture what is no more: sailor snakeseller,
black nannies in uniform. People looked for sociability but often found only alienation. I used b&w film to characterize the times.
