Acerca del libro
Presenting our fourth issue, Color & Color#3, Red and Green.
The Swedes have a Red & Green Manifesto that mixes the red of socialism and anarchy with the green of environmentalism. Traffic signals direct in red and green: "Stop. Go." Elijah Burgher taps into red's magical qualities in his imminently functional, desire-based, sigil drawings. And Park McArthur's textual prompt addresses complexity and color blindness, which precludes the combo entirely.
Each of the artists in C&C#3 went a different route with the thematic colors. The resulting book speaks to subjective manipulations of red and green.
Artists in this issue include:
Elijah Burgher (IL), Sally Elesby (CA), Brian Giniewski (PA), Lap Le (NY), Park McArthur (NY), Leah Rosenberg (CA), Matthew Underwood (RI), and Nancy White (CA)
We encourage you to get in touch with kindred spirits directly. You can find more info on the artists in the back of the book.
In Color,
Amanda & Erik
SPRING 2012
Color&Color is an artist-curated publication guided by the duality of two thematic colors per issue. C&C was conceived as a mobile venue in which to present new work of artists we respect and with whom we want to work. With each issue the publication connects artists with new audiences and expanded dialogue. Not wanting to rely solely on traditional venues like galleries and museums, C&C presents artwork via the serial print medium. This opens up access to new spatial-temporal configurations for the work. Proceeds from sales go directly to future issues of C&C.
C&C is co-curated and co-produced by Amanda Curreri and Erik Scollon.
