Acerca del libro
My wife and I are not frequent travelers, and the decision on Paris was taken with deliberation. On this trip we wanted stable accommodation. We had tiried of past experiences where time seeking new hotels seemed to consume a high percentage of our travel.
We located an apartment for rent by the week in the Globe and Mail newspaper. We decided to go in the Fall, after the rush of tourist season. The appropriate arrangements made, we found ourselves in Paris at the end of October and into November for 10 days. The timing was ultimately set by our ability to book tickets to a Keith Jarrett concert.
It is not uncommon that a child will play more with the box, than with the contents. In my case I enjoyed and derived great
benefit from seeing great art close up. But, I also had a great fascination with the structures that housed the art in Paris, and the secrets that lay in open view.
Those secrets take the form of form,
pattern, color and detail. Using these
components, one can create a new reality; a reality that can only be seen through isolation and exaggeration.

Acerca del creador
The world presents itself and I observe. There are times the observation becomes an obsession. Sometimes, a casual encounter. These moments become the photographs I interpret by exaggeration or simplification. I have been an exhibitor since 1969; exhibiting photographs, painting and prints through 150 exhibitions, primarily in US university, college, and community galleries in 31 American States; in BC, Alberta, Ontario and in web galleries in Canada, Australia, China, Thailand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Italy and the United States. I now publish books of current and past projects as a means of closure and completion. Born and educated in Alberta, I moved to the coast in 1984, and have been living in Victoria since 1986. .
