Acerca del creador
Waylan's artistic journey began in his childhood when he often found himself immersed in the world of superheroes like Superman, historical figures like Davy Crockett, or Western icons like Roy Rogers. These larger-than-life figures sparked his imagination, and drawing became his second outlet for creativity. Waylan's educational and professional journey is a testament to his versatility as an artist. At Va. Tech, he delved into architecture, honing his skills in drawing and painting. His early career saw him exploring both traditional and conceptual art. As a graduate student at RISD, he earned his degree as a printmaker and co-founded the P. Dora Gallery, the network of suitcase galleries (a whole different story to explore). He shifted two decades ago, focusing on developing an intuitive and introspective body of work, leading him to step away from public exhibitions. Waylan's artistic journey spans over five decades, a testament to his unwavering commitment to his craft.
