Acerca del libro
Polish immigrant Alexander Donnis ran a successful lumber company in Hatfield, Massachusetts, supporting his twelve children and providing employment for his sons after World War II. This book shows photos taken in 1947, with captions by his last living son. The main text was written to support a successful bid to list Elm Street in Hatfield on the National Register of Historical Places.

Photography is a second career for me, a return to a major interest of mine since childhood. It follows a successful primary career as a packaging designer and design firm executive in Manhattan. My photography seeks to demonstrate what I believe are similarities between photographs and consumer product packaging: both aim to tell a story in a confined space, to maximize the emotional impact on the viewer, to explain and to educate.
