Acerca del libro
"An excellent book." The amply illustrated tome, Lewes Bottles records the finds after the 2000 flood and and the charactors of Lewes who collect them. A book to warm the cockles of your heart.
John Eccles - Sussex Express book review 25/12/2009
The flood of Oct' 2000 was a disaster for many, but at least for Steve Homewood, who lived next to Cliffe bridge at the time,it opened his eyes to a hobby that lead to this book. The raging waters churned up the bed of the river Ouse (in Lewes, Sussex UK), turning over the river bed and depositing its contents on the bank including hundreds of bottles, clay pipes and pottery that had been laying there for years undisturbed in the sediment.
A trawl through this photo-rich book gives an insight into the word of bottle collectors who risk life and limb in these dangerous waters to recover items of important local historical interest.
