A three week stay at Bechyne in southern Bohemia gave the opportunity to investigate the branch from Tabor to Bechyne which was the first electrified line in what was the the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Brief visits were paid to a number of secondary routes in the area including one which was playing host to a special steam train commemorating the liberation of south Bohemia in 1945.
