Acerca del libro
This book is a photographic glimpse of the creative transformation of a church with 173 years of history into a residence that reflects the passion and artistic vision of its lifelong, Philadelphia-resident owners. The historic Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Kensington on Marlborough Street, organized in 1836, ceased being an active church in 1986 and was briefly occupied by other organizations until 1996. The building sat empty for almost 10 years until it was purchased in 2005 by Jerold Feinstein and co-owner Albert Facchiano. Mr. Feinstein and Mr. Facchiano endeavored to create a unique residence, and over several years evolved the historic space into a functional work of urban art complete with an eclectic mix of original historic, contemporary, and antique elements.
