Acerca del libro
This collection documents the initial interest I have had in deriving beauty from ugliness and disorder. It first started in 1972, when I told myself that there was beauty in puddles and that I should photograph it. Soon after, following such thinking, I did small paintings using very muddy colors, limiting myself to just one brilliant color--a standard upon which to reflect and compare. I never stopped this line of thinking, so that now I can find beauty just about anywhere, even in the most unappetizing of places. Photographing gives me the opportunity of producing much more work than I could with a brush and paint. I have been photographing trash since 2009. Every beautiful art work I have ever loved helped me to select the trash photographs you'll see. I am indebted to so many great artists. I continue this interest almost daily and I don't see how I could ever stop it.
