After her third Equator crossing and visit to the Galapagos Islands, they sailed down the Pacific Coasts of Ecuador, Peru, and Chile against the wind and Humboldt Current. Her voyage continued south into the "Roaring Forties" prior to navigating the remote and un-touched southern canals of Patagonia, Chile and Tierra del Fuego, Argentina.



Rounding the infamous and treacherous Cape Horn was a day to never be forgotten before setting out into the southern Atlantic and sailing in the "Furious Fifties", testing boat and crew under bare poles in a powerful storm off the Falkland Islands.



The enchanting city Buenos Aires, Argentina provided a great place to lay up and make repairs before cruising the coasts of Uruguay and Brazil including sailing into the breathtaking harbor of Rio de Janeiro.



Continue with us up the central coast of Brazil before setting off on a 1900 nautical mile non-stop voyage setting a new 24 hour boat distance record before crossing the Equator for the fourth time. This 11 day passage carried LONE STAR well offshore the mouth of the Amazon and off the coasts of French Guiana, Suriname, Guyana, and Venezuela before arriving in Trinidad, West Indies completing her circumnavigation of South America.
