Acerca del libro
This softcover version of The Italian Suite is artist Carol Carter’s lush interpretation of Tuscany. After a sojourn to Italy during the summer of 2009, Carter began painting the works presented in this book. The patina of the ages is tempered by Carter’s rich interpretation of life in contemporary Tuscany. Her version of a Mediterranean palette seems electrified.
At 78 pages long and with over 50 full color plates, this book’s imagery represents a visual catalog of Tuscan themes: Renaissance architecture, mysterious alleyways, fashion-forward natives, and glorious landscape. As seen through Carol Carter’s eye and brush, these iconic themes become fresh, exciting and seductive.
Carol Carter was deep in the process of painting the works presented here when a museum approached her, interested in the possibility of a one-person show featuring the Italy pieces. Carter is pleased that The Italian Suite will be exhibited February 25-May 1, 2011 at the Cedarhurst Center for the Arts in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
In addition to this 10" x 8" Standard Landscape softcover version, the book is also available in a 13" x 10" Large Landscape hardbound format.
