Acerca del libro
For six weeks in 2010, I wandered the streets of Delhi, and then parts of Rajasthan and Kerala in India. Before I left, India seemed so large and overwhelming. Once there, I learned that, for me, the charm of India lies in its people, and in slowing down and taking it one person at a time. There is an openness to living there--both figuratively and literally--that just doesn't exit in the west, where people live and work largely in seclusion. The more people I met, the more I started to feel a connection with India.
This book is about some of those people I encountered along the way.

When traveling with my camera, I simply wander, in search of new colors, light I can feel, and people in their everyday lives. Fleeting encounters with strangers may seem to offer little in the way of meaningful interactions. But spontaneity often reveals raw and genuine glimpses of personality unencumbered by politics, economic conditions, or age. My own humanity grows with each such encounter, and I hope that the photographs in my books impart something of these intangible moments.
