Moments and minutes pass in the blink of an eye, but photographs keep and preserve those memories for an eternity. Regardless of the subject matter--be it landscapes, everyday people or wildlife -- no photograph is the same. It is this unique, novel quality that gives certain images the power to enchant. And while any still image can paint a portrait, there are few subjects more illustrative, captivating and beautiful than wildlife. The photography is challenging and the moments are fleeting, but watching animals unobstructed for even a brief moment (be it in the true wild or a wildlife preserve) is magical.



This book is a collection of wildlife photographs taken over the last five years. My travels took me to Hudson Bay in the Arctic, to a penguin colony near Punta Arenas in South America, to Denali National Park in Alaska, to the high country around Cusco, Peru, to Yellowstone National Park and the mountains around Glacier National Park, and finally to the coast and wetlands of Northern California. It has been a wild and wonderful journey and thankfully there are more to come.
