Acerca del libro
Adventuresome young Tedde Jarvis leaves her family and sails to Alaska in this true life tale from the early 1900's. On the way, she befriends Mary Ann, a nurse, and makes plans to find a room and a job. Soon Tedde finds herself traipsing all over the Alaskan islands with new friends: kayaking, ice skating, hiking, and sledding. Yet, Alaskan winters are notoriously cold and dark and other women are scarce. When diehard outdoorsman Pete takes more than a friendly interest, Tedde has another incentive to decide if Alaskan life is for her. Will she stay in the far north or move on to the next adventure?
