Acerca del libro
instant karma(ra) has been conceived as a "book in a day" taking it's title in part from John Lennon's single that was written and recorded on the 27th January 1970 and released within 10 days.
For this issue 16 students from across all three years of the BA(Hons) Photography course at Sheffield Hallam University have responded to the theme of 'collector / archive'
Contributors met at 10.00am on the morning of the 5th November 2010 with a selection of images exploring the above theme produced over the preceding week. After a discussion of the work and an introduction to the process of on-line, on-demand book production each contributor edited and laid out their images for the page. A full set of finished page layouts were then provided to each contributor for them to determine their personal page sequence, image juxtapositions and overall design. The resulting books were then reviewed and a final design selected before being published.
The project, conceived and led by Andrew Robinson, explores the potential of on-line, on-demand publishing for instant collaborative production.
