This educational travel guide of life in the Arctic documents a circumnavigation of Spitsbergen - the largest island of Svalbard - with extensions to Moffen, Lågøya, the sea ice at 81° N, and the second largest island of Nordaustlandet in August 2010. On route, we encounter polar bears, walruses, Arctic foxes, fin whales and reindeer in their natural habitat.



The voyage starts and ends in Longyearbyen, and visits Barentsburg, Ny-Alesund, Magdalenefjorden, Moffen, Lågøya, Nelsonøya, Kinnvika, Alkefjellet, Bråsvellbreen, Kvalvågen, Isbukta, Gnålodden, Samarinvågen, Alkhornet, and Skansbukta.
