12" x 12" hardback premium version: Caffe Tazza is an old coffee shop in Taos, New Mexico. During the summer of 2010, I photographed 84 people there: residents of Taos and pilgrims passing through. These portraits and my essay are the result, a labor of love.

Robbie Steinbach
Taos, New Mexico
Robbie Steinbach is a photographer, printmaker, and book artist. She received her M.F.A. from the University of Iowa and taught art and women's studies at the university level for many years. While living in the Midwest, Steinbach published her monograph, Lifework: Portraits of Iowa Women Artists. She moved to Taos, New Mexico, in 2001. In 2007 she had a one-person show at the Millicent Rogers Museum in Taos, and in 2009 was granted an Emily Harvey Foundation artist residency in Venice, Italy. Currently, in addition to her Caffe Tazza portraits, Steinbach is working on a project entitled, A Precarious Balance: Creative Women in Taos.
