This is the story of one family in Warrington UK, during the two World Wars.It is compiled from the stories recounted at famliy gatherings and over the years and tells how each member of the family had a different tale to tell.It is set down in print because the War Generation has largely passed away and with them the wealth of history that was the life of the ordinary men and women.

A former primary teacher, Diane spent most of her time teaching at a comprehensive school ending her career as an Assistant Head. During this time she has taught children with special needs, older primary children and secondary pupils. Her main subjects were History with some Geography. In retirement her six grandchildren, all under the age of seven, are her delight. This book is written with them in mind, and the extraordinary people that influenced my life. Their story should be told.
