Acerca del libro
People, Places, and Things invites you on a journey through England’s landscapes, where history, photography, and discovery intertwine.
Each chapter unveils the hidden histories of villages, fields, and forgotten places, connecting the lives of those who came before us to the artifacts they left behind—coins, tools, and treasures unearthed from the soil. From the Domesday Book to the Industrial Revolution, from the Roman Empire to the world wars, this book bridges the gaps between moments in time and the stories buried beneath our feet.
Illustrated with aerial maps, documentary photographs, and still-life images of the finds, What Lies Beneath celebrates the passion of metal detecting and the quiet persistence of history enthusiasts. If you are curious about the past, this book invites you to explore the stories hidden just beneath the surface.
