"In early 2002, the HIV/AIDS crisis was raging in Lesotho. The Congregation of Sisters of the Holy Cross appointed Sr. Juliana to be their representative, to work with international aid organizations to address the crisis in rural communities.

Sister Juliana founded the St. Camillus Home Based Care Centre in Mohale's Hoek, Lesotho in 2002, however, due to her humble nature; she always insists that the founders included Bishop Sebastian Khoarai and the Sisters of the Congregation of the Holy Cross. Sister Juliana Manele has represented the Congregation and has served as Director of the Centre since its inception."
