Acerca del libro
Richards' method of creation is photomontage. His method is not about simply pasting things together, but It’s about combining and refining many elements to form a picture. The goal is to invite the viewer to think about the story behind the image.
Richards often uses vintage images that have meaning on an emotional level about life and the passing of time. In the book He used photos from the WWII War years with a particular focus on images from The Office of War Information (OWI). This office was setup to document life on the home front from about 1941-1945. OWI hired photographers to document the lives of people during the WWII years..
Richards maintained the feeling of that era and did not alter the work so much that it takes away from what was. The work was re-imaged to present to a contemporary viewer…a sort of rebirth of what was eighty-odd years ago.
