Chrestomathy is a collection of literary passages. It is primarily a personal book, regardless of what a casual glance may suggest. I wrote it as diary, carefully editing and compiling thoughts from my daily life. The book aims to be reflective, polemical, and personal all at once. Although the thoughts in the book are loosely organised, careful reading reveals underlying themes. However, ultimately it doesn’t matter whether the reader recognises them or not. The thoughts stand independently, and any alternative arrangement would be equally valid.

Understanding these thoughts is enhanced when there is a contextual backdrop and ample time for reflection. Each reader brings their unique context, ensuring an individualised reading experience. For instance, some thoughts that I have included as purely polemical may be perceived as self-evident truths by certain readers.

In the process of creating this book, I thoroughly enjoyed the book production mechanism — designing the covers, selecting typefaces, developing a coherent structure, and achieving the final product. There is a great sense of satisfaction in completing something that one is truly happy with.

I contemplated for a long time whether to make this book available, considering their personal nature. However, those few who have read it expressed such enjoyment that I see no harm in sharing it with others. Therefore, I hope you derive pleasure from them as well.
